MACO is again offering Student Education grants for students who are continuing their education beyond high school. Applications can be found in the church office and are due Sunday, June 17, 2012. If anyone has any questions, please call Ron Salisbury.
The Blanket Drive is sponsored by Church World Service each May to help needy locally, nationally, and internationally and those who have lost their home or possessions. It is one of the fund raising drives sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (U.S. A.) A donation of $5.00 will buy one blanket and will make a big difference in the life of a displaced individual. Please prayerfully consider donating at least $5.00 to this worthy cause. Make your check out to Parkwood UPC and mark “Blanket Drive” on the memo line. There are envelopes available in the pews specifically for the Blanket Drive.
Are in the pews. Please use these to place your concerns on the Prayer Wall. These prayer concerns are prayed for during the week at Praying at Parkwood as well as by Rev. Jeff. You are encouraged to take an existing prayer concern and pray for that concern during the week as well.
This year we will again go to Wallace, W.V. from June 17th to 23rd to work for World Vision repairing homes in the area. Wallace is approximately 20 miles southwest of Morgantown, W.V. This is a great opportunity to help people in need and spend quality time working and fellowshipping with other members of the congregation. Please prayerfully consider participating. Remember we do make a difference!
A weekday companion is needed for an older woman in the Gibsonia area. If interested please call (412) 480-0115 after 5:00 p.m.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Parkwood we will be holding a new members class in the near future. Please see either Rev. Jeff or Pastor Barb or contact the office, if you have not already done so, to sign up.
This fall, consider signing up for electronic giving. Parkwood relies on the financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis. Please contact the office for details.
Is available for anyone with children up to 3 years of age. Our Nursery is in great need of volunteers to assist Rhonda each week. If you would like to have fun with our children who are three years of age and under, please consider placing your name on the sign-up sheet located on the Welcome Center desk. It is not necessary to have a child in the Nursery to assist.
Monthly Requests and
more>>Are sold in the Welcome Center before and after worship and also in the office during the week. They come in denominations of 100, 50, and 25 dollars.
