NEW: WORSHIP VIDEOS!

Welcome to the online home of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church! We are so glad that you have found us. Parkwood Church is located in Allison Park, PA in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Our church was created from a merger of Allison Park and Wildwood Churches in 1964, and all in all we have been active in ministry for over 100 years. We are a proud member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) and the Pittsburgh Presbytery.

Parkwood is a congregation of Christians who remember that our salvation and all the gifts of our lives come from God’s grace.  We are a warm and friendly congregation that prays, works, worships and serves with joy and love mindful of the fact that we are all sinners whose lives were redeemed by Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

We are committed to being a church that meets the hopes and needs of our community, and one that provides a place where your gifts can be used to share the message of Jesus Christ with the world. So please take some a moment to browse through our site and see the many ministries and mission opportunities that Parkwood has to offer. We would love for you to come and see what the Holy Spirit is doing in this place.

If you have any questions or if I can be of assistance in any way, please don't hesitate to contact me.

May God bless you today,

Rev. Jeff

> Meals on Wheels Desserts
During the summer month’s donations of baked goods for Meals on Wheels decreases. If you are baking during the summer think about making an extra batch for them. If you include nuts please note it and no baked goods with frosting. Diabetic items are also appreciated
> Back to School Supplies
The deacons will be collecting Back to School supplies during the month of August. School seems to start earlier every year and now is the time to be looking for sales and stocking up!! Baskets are in the hallway, outside of the lounge, if you would like to shop early. The final day to bring your supplies to the church is August 23rd.
> Tools for Workcamp
The youth are headed to Walpole Island, Ontario this summer for a mission trip; we are in need of some tools to help with our projects. If you are willing to let us borrow a tool from the list please let Mike Barton know. 2 – post hole diggers, 1 – jigsaw, 1 - electric drill with bits, 2 – spade shovels, 2 – caulking guns and 2 - circular saws. If any of the equipment is damaged while being used by the youth we will gladly replace it.
> Men's Study Group
The group meets on Saturday morning’s at 8:00 a.m. in the Welcome Center. We are studying the book “Audacity of Hope” by President Barack Obama. All men of the church are invited to attend and think about bringing a friend with you. Breakfast is always served!
> Parkwood Night with the Pirates

Once again we will be having a “Parkwood Night at the Pirates Game.” We have reserved 40 tickets for Saturday, August 22nd when the Pirates play against the Cincinnati Reds; at 7:05. There is also a postgame concert as part of the 1979 World Series Celebration with KC and the Sunshine Band. As we did last year we will be tailgating at Graybar before the game. Add your name to the sign-up sheet on the Welcome Center desk.

> Sight and Sound Theater Bus Trip
We are planning a trip to Sight and Sound Theater (outside of Lancaster, PA) on Saturday, September 19th. If you have never been to Sight and Sound, it is quite the experience. It is a 2 ˝ hour show that brings you right into the Garden of Eden. The cost of your ticket includes a great meal at the Plain and Fancy Restaurant in Lancaster and your bus ride and snacks. Sign up on the Welcome Desk this week!
> Prayer Garden Bricks
There are still blank bricks in the Prayer Garden. If you would like to honor the memory of a loved one or a special event, you can purchase a 4” x 8” or a 12” x 12” brick to be placed in the walkway. Please pick up an order form in the hallway outside the choir room. What a lovely way to honor or remember someone dear to us.
> Fore!

It's golf time! Please join us at Rose Ridge every Wednesday at noon. Ladies welcome.

> Giant Eagle Certificates

Are sold in the Welcome Center following worship and also in the office during the week.  They come in denominations of $100, $50 and $25.  We sell the certificates as a fund raising project.  Did you ever think you could help give to the church by simply buying groceries as a result of using a Giant Eagle Card purchased at the church?  Also, when you buy your groceries using the cards you get fuel perks.
